Flu treatment

Description
There are three major types of influenza, Influenza A, B, and C. Other variations of the flu that have reached prominence more recently include swine flu (H1N1) and avian bird flu.
Causes
Influenza is spread different strains of the influenza virus, which frequently is spread via moist droplets of water such as those that accompany a sneeze. A person can spread influenza from one day before symptoms appear to five days after symptoms appear.
Prevention
Preventative measures include receiving an annual flu shot, frequently washing hands, and being sanitary. Other ways to avoid getting the flu include getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, avoiding sugar, drinking green tea, eating fruits and vegetables, and drinking plenty of water.
Common Symptoms
Symptoms include fever, bodily aches and pains, exhaustion, severe headaches, and other symptoms that characterize the common cold as well.
Rare Symptoms
Itchy eyes, eventual development into pneumonia.
Traditional Treatment
Conventional treatments for the flu include plenty of rest, drinking fluids such as water and electrolyte-rich drinks, and taking some over-the-counter medications to relieve symptoms.
Alternative Treatment
Eating echinacea, garlic, pepperment leaves, elderflowers, small doses of hyssop, ginger or cinnamon tea, ginger, or acupuncture. Placing a few drops of hydrogen peroxide in each ear or using colloidal silver have also been used to treat the flu.
