Ulcer treatment

Description
An Ulcer is a sore either on the epithelium or the mucous membranes that line the digestive tract. They are slow-healing and often result in destruction of tissue.
Causes
Ulcers can be caused by: Helicobacter pylori bacteria, antirheumatic drugs used to treat bone, muslce, and joint problems, aspirin, ibuprophen, naproxen, excess acid in the stomach, esophagus, or small intestine, physical or emotional stress, and stomach cancer.
Prevention
Avoid spicy food, Avoid acidic foods, taking antacids, avoid alcohol and smoking, eating less sugar, regular exercise
Common Symptoms
Burning sensation or pain in the stomach or chest; Anemia; Nausea; Vomiting; Blood in stool; Weakness
Rare Symptoms
May show no symptoms; Weight loss; Vomiting blood
Traditional Treatment
Change in diet or lifestyle, a combination of antibiotics and proton pump inhibitor, H2 receptor antagonists
Alternative Treatment
Drinking cabbage juice; Diet high in fiber; Linoleic acid; Vitamins A, E, and C; Herbs such as chamomile, cinnamon, licorice, peppermint, and cranberry; Argentum nitricum; Arsenicum album; Kali bichromicum; Lycopodium; Nitric acid; Nux vomica; Phosphorus
