Meniere's Disease & Vertigo treatment

Description
Ménière's disease is a labyrinthine dysfunction also known as endolymphatic hydrops. It is an ear fluid disorder leading to balance problems. It is characterized by recurring episodes of vertigo, ringing in the ears or vertigo; and difficulty/loss of hearing usually in one ear.
Causes
While the exact cause of Ménière’s disease is not know, it could result from excess production or decreased absorption of endolymph, which causes endolymphatic hydrops or endolymphatic hypertension, with subsequent disintegration of the vestibular and cochlear hair cells. Common Symptoms
Periodic episodes of rotatory vertigo or lack of balance; dizziness; fluctuating progressive low-frequency hearing loss; tinnitus or ringing in the ears; a feeling of "fullness" or pressure build-up in the ear; photophobia; and profuse sweating. All symptoms are aggravated by motion.

Pharmacological treatment includes atropine which could stop within half an hour. Epinephrine or diphenhydramine could be administered in case of severe attacks.
