Alopecia Areata treatment

Description
Also known as Alopecia totalis, Alopecia universalis, or simply Alopecia, this autoimmune disease results most commonly in round patches of hair loss, but it can affect other parts of the body as well.
Causes
When the immune systems weakens it attacks certain parts of the body that are supposed to fight off disease and infections. Hair follicles are then destroyed.
Common Symptoms
Common symptoms include round hairless patches on the scalp.
Rare Symptoms
Complete hair loss on the head and/ or body.
Traditional Treatment
It can be treated with a steroid injection known as Corticosteroids, creams and shampoos (clobetasol), or fluocinonide, minoxidil, and cyclosporine.
Alternative Treatment
Acupuncture, aroma therapy, oils and Zinc.
