Muscular Dystrophy treatment

Description
A disease that attacks the skeletal muscle cells. It defers or stops development of the muscle cells and can cause problems in the joints of the body. It can also leave victims handicap temporarily or for life. There are over 30 different sub categories that fall under muscular dystrophy.
Causes
Muscular dystrophy is a hereditary genetic disorder that runs through the family. It can be obtained from a mother, father, or any distant relative. Certain mutations in the genes can make the perfect recipe for muscular dystrophy.
Prevention
The disease is hereditary. There is no way to prevent it.
Common Symptoms
Locking of the knees, inability to support head, poor balance, inability to work, drooping eyelids, difficulty breathing, constipation, and progressive weakness.
Rare Symptoms
Trouble swallowing.
Traditional Treatment
Steroids, Dilantin, Tegretol, myoblast transfer treatment, physical therapy, tendon-release surgery, occupational therapy. Muscular dystrophy does not have a cure. These treatments only help live a better quality life.
Alternative Treatment
Omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins A, C, E, and B,Melatonin, green tea, coenzyme Q10, calcium tablets, Rhodiola herb.
