I too am hyperthyroid. I was prescribed carbimazole and had an allergic reaction with a skin rash which erupted within days. I then was prescribed PTU, propylithouacil which I initially took at a very high dosage, namely 12 tablets/day and after several weeks lost my taste completely and had bad headaches. My consultant reduced the dosage to two/day after 2 months as I had gone underactive. I gradually regained my taste but then developed pains in my arms so bad I couldn't sleep on my sides... I added 5MG of this, then cut that in half, then cut THAT in half, to 10MG Lisinopril. My BP crashed (83/62), my resting heart rate was 50, and I felt as if I had to remind myself to breathe. I run 2.25 miles a day, this drug killed my sex drive totally (and I only took it for TWO WEEKS), I went back to 1/2 of a 25MG Toprol even though I hate that drug too, because my BP for some reason suddenly increased. This particular drug (100mg, baby blue capsules) did not give me many side effects. No nausea even on an empty stomach, no vomiting, very slight reaction to the sun. However, I noticed a marked increase in fatigue and depression. I have a feeling of being just completely wiped several hours before my normal bedtime. This drug is being taken once a day for 30 days to clear the increased acne as a result of taking Androgel.
