Try adding more purple to your diet!
Purple foods such as concord grapes, blueberries, plums, pomegranates, acai berries, red wine, and even eggplants are very high in antioxidants. Purple foods have been shown to protect your heart and vision, promote mental focus, and increase longevity. Research has indicated that purple foods may even be used to prevent or cure cancer.

I have a horrible cough that has been keeping me up over the last week and tried this to help break it up. Not sure if this is from the drug or not but it now burns like a son of a gun to go to the bathroom. I was on this site to see if anyone else experienced this. I did a home test and not UTI. I have IC but this is by far the worst burning pain I've had to date.

I had a lot of congestion after heart surgery, and I was given Mucinex in the hospital, and I continued it after I got home. I slowly lost my sense of taste and my appetite, and I lost a lot of weight. When I stopped the Mucinex, my taste came back, and when I started taking it again, I lost my sense of taste again. I also suffered from mild nausea all the time when I was taking it. I'm going to stop taking it permanently.

Taking Mucinex DM as my doctor advised. It has helped break up my congestion and cough, but now I have a terrible metallic or blood taste in my mouth.has never happened before. I want to know why, and what to do about it.

I have an extreme head cold that has been accompanied by flu. My cough is very loose and I have been able to easily cough up phlegm. I do not have chest congestion. However, I would suggest that you NOT use Mucinex if your cough is loose, and the cold has not progressed down into your lungs. After 4 doses of Mucinex, my bronchial tubes went into a severe spasm, and I was in a "coughing frenzy" gasping for air. This worsens when I lay down. I am hopeful that this side effect stops 12 hours after my last dose. People need to understand also, that they should not take Sudafed when taking Mucinex. Mucinex contains Psuedoephedrine, and by taking Sudafed and Mucinex together, you are getting a double dose of Psuedoephedrine, which is dangerous. People also need to understand that Mucinex should be used for severe colds accompanied by "tight coughs" - where you cough and cough, and nothing comes up. Once the cough becomes loose and you are able to "expel" the mucus (whether it be in your head, your throat or in your lungs and bronchial tubes), then Mucinex should be taken with extreme precaution. This is a powerful drug, it works well, but should be monitored closely.
