I've consumed pomegranates not so much as for prescribed health reasons, but for a healthy diet. Although I have not seen any negative side effects as a result of consuming pomegranates, I have not seen any benefits either.

I was prescriped Niaspan, but since I do not have drug insurance, the cost was prohibitive. I searched the web for a lower cost niacin and decided to try the Endur-acin because it was also extended release, came in 500mg doses, the cost for 500 tablets was $42.00, and other user comments made me feel it would be just as good. I am currently expiriencing severe back problems and it's a dilemma. The M.D prescribed (Morphine Sulfate) which is used to treat agonizing pain. I started taking Zocor (simvastatin) for high cholesterol and it has lowered my cholesterol without making any other lifestyle changes (diet or exercise). It has worked consistantly for 10 years and the generic is nice because it was cheap
