I suffered from general anxiety disorder, mild OCD, and occasional depression and went on Lexapro when I was 18. After about 2 weeks I started noticing improvement and after about 6 weeks I noticed the full effects. My anxiety caused me to have a lot of problems going to sleep and after starting lexapro those issues went away and I was able to sleep much better. It's helps prevent the sneezing, and runny nose I get from allergies but at times it can cause dry mouth and sore throats and on a couple of rare occasions I believe it's given me headaches.

This is the best working drug I have ever taken for any condition. I went from waking up at all hours of the night chewing rolaids and tums continuously, having reflux so bad I almost choked to death several times, to my stomach feeling like I am 10 years old again. I only need to take one nexium on occasions, whenever I eat something that would normally kill my stomach. One pill's effects keep the heartburn and reflux away for 3 or 4 days! I initially took this drug and there was no noticeable action and then I felt horrible for 3 - 4 and then much better. I couldn't sleep due to my sinus problems and was extremely stuffy. The drug does the job - just takes a while to do so!

It got me out of a severe depressive episode, for which I am grateful. However, I still experience bouts of depression, often in the afternoon. So it is likely not a long term solution for me.
