Ibuprofen works when I need minor pain relief, although I cannot say whether or not it works because of the actual drug in the pills or as a result of the placebo effect. Either way, it makes me feel better and they're non-addictive (to me at least), so I will stand by my Ibuprofen

When I first started Ortho-Tri Cyclen (Lo) I was bed-bound with sickness for two days. For the next year I would have morning sickness for the first week of every pill pack each month. I started using capsaicin cream for my joint pain. Before, I could not raise my knee at all, but now I can. But still, If I do not rub the cream on my knees , I will resent the pain. Another side effect of that medication is that it gives me allergies all around my back.

I started Junel on the advice of my physician to regulate hormone levels. There are many non-pharmaceutical products that can help you sleep, like melatonin and even 5-htp (if your seratonin levels are off). I've also heard that being dehydrated is a cause for restlessness.

Many people don't realize this, but Acetaminophen is a good fever reducer. Taken at the same dose as you would for pain relief, it can help reduce mild fevers. I used tylenol when I had the flu and it helped with the aches and pains as well as keeping my temperature under control.
