Benzaclin Comments

It worked well, and the doctor brought me down to a lower dosage when I was finished

Benzaclin was prescribed to me by a Dermatologist; I was on a cycle of Benzaclin every morning and Retin-A at night. Aside from the few adverse effects (dry skin, staining of clothes) listed above, there were no problems side effects with taking Benzaclin. I don't think it is the best acne medication out there, however. At least for me, the improvement was mild, and it did not do as good of a job as I would have hoped. My dermatologist has since changed my acne medication to Tazorac and Clindamycin, and I believe these work much better

When I started taking Benzaclin, I didn't have any insurance coverage so I paid over 150 dollars for a tube of it. While it was very effective and did not dry out my skin, I could only use it for a short time because I couldn't afford it!

So far, it's been a pretty effective acne medication gel. I use it as needed-whenever I get pimples. It helps dry up acne spots and clears the skin pretty quickly. Only con is that it drys out the skin , so I have to make sure to use moisturizer.
