I am very happy with Lamictal as I have been able to come off of another mood stabiliser (which was causing unwanted side effects) .. it is much more effective for my condition ( Bi polar disorder) .. this medication does not affect my libido like other medication either... the only problem is that it is not a government subsidized medication as it is not recognised as a medication needed for bi polar disorder and so is very expensive... I took MARAX as a child in 60's, early 70's for asthma. I found it effective, but found it to cause a (to me, scary) side effect my doctor never mentioned: Marax caused me to "see stars" upon rising from sitting position; to the point that this "visual static" (similar to analog TV picture after station goes off the air) made it impossible to see, momentarily, upon rising. Works too well. I would like to try half dose as that's the published norm (75mg/day) for SAD. I have no anxiety, lack energy, little to no adreniline (sp) and lower motivation. I read a quote "I eat little, always feel like I just ate and gain weight", Bingo! My quote would be, "If someone stuck a gun in my back I'd probably just turn around and ask what the hell do you want".
