The constipation and change of appetite was un tolerable. I was taking pain killers for another problem and had to then sit really in pain due to extreme constipation, belly, abdomen, anus pain. I have had a rough year, worsened by this. For me, kava works wonders for my sometimes debilitating anxiety. Non-addictive, and does not cloud my thinking. However, I usually take more than whatever the recommended dose on the bottle says. No side effects, other than if you take "too much", sometimes you can feel a little tired the next day, and/or not sleep as well in the morning.
