I have been taking 2 mg xanax for over ten years. I stop taking it every once in a while after reading negative effects . It helps me with my constipation. I do have a hard time when trying to get off of it. I experience nausea, and become quite ill for about 4 days. I do not know if I should stay on it or not . I would like to know if there is any long term effects on being on it for an extended length of time.

To everyone on NSAIDs...please be careful! My brother was prescribed naproxin (which is just prescription strength Aleve) for shoulder pain. The Dr kept refilling the prescription for 9 months which resulted in kidney damage. Over-the-counter anti-inflammatory drugs like Advil, Motrin, Aleve can be dangerous if taken improperly or long term. They aren't "safe" just because you can buy them without a prescription. took ambien initail by itself but it did not help me fall asleep. I started to take it with two other medicines that were ativan and trileptal. these only worked when I took all three together to fall asleep

I took Lupron Depot in 12/09 prior to hysterectomy to shrink a fibroid. Never worked and now I have developed hashimotos and continued breathng problems. I had a complete physical in 5/09 and was in excellent health except for heavy periods due to fibroid. Wish doctor had give me birth control pills instead. Do not take this drug unless you have no other options.
