I have taken nuvigil for about a year now. I have not had a problem with hair loss. As for sleeping, I don't normally have a problem. I too am a teacher and have difficulty with my summer's lack of routine. I know the medicine doesn't help as much if I don't take it right away in the morning. Also, I have started using the alarm clock to have a more consistent wake-up time; this seems to help too.

This medication was prescribed to help with my fibromyalgia. Taking this medication has slowly deteriorated my quality of life. It no longer helped with the pain so I discussed it with my physician and it was decided that I could come off this meedication. The "withdrawal" is the most difficult thing I have ever been through. So far, I am extremely satisfied with my experience using Ortho Tri-Cyclen. The pills are small and discreet, so I can take them without my religious grandparents even knowing that I am. I have not had breakthrough bleeding and I started them (against my physician's advice) the day after I was prescribed, or mid-way through my former menstrual cycle. My original dosing was only once a day, but around mid-afternoon I felt horrible and my symptoms were worse than ever. My psychiatrist switched me to one in the early morning and one in afternoon and, ever since, the change has been ridiculous. My finances are under control (because I can focus on taking care of bills as opposed to forgetting about them and then getting anxious), my work is a thousand times better and I am a lot more confident because my ADHD is being managed. I would prefer not to be on birth control, however, I have terrible cysts which will hospitalize me if I am not on the pill. Overall, I have had numerous complications. Abdominal, heart, chest wall, weight gain, extreme exhaustion, decreased libido.

I was hospitalized after my pulse went through the roof when I took Zomig. It was attributed to an allergic reaction, so unfortunately this triptan is no long available to me (I still take Maxalt and Imitrex). However, my dad takes Zomig regularly and does quite well with it when he combines it with a painkiller.
