Took it for 6 months starting with a high dosage to treat pericarditis. I kept to a strict diet and only gained 5 lbs during the 6 months but the other side effects were awful. Developed severe joint pain from head to toe and had leg and foot cramps. I would wake at night in terrible pain that was awful enough to leave me crying. At first I had difficulty with Procardia XL because it made my feet swell and turn an unnatural shade of bright pink. However, I knew that was a common side effect so I kept taking it. I started taking Chantix two weeks ago, the first week was fine, while I was smoking, when I quit smoking on the second week I thought that I might have an immunity to the meds because I was climbing the walls... like you do when you are having a nicotine fit, by the end of the second week I developed a skin rash with lesions varying in size from a pin point to a dime size. Since I have started on Lisinopril-HCTZ 20/12.5MG I have been gaining weight. I used to be 130 and I was 175 lbs a couple of months ago. Its like being on a roller coaster with my weight since I have started on this medication. I am now 155lbs and cant seem to get anylower than that. I even went to a nutrinist ofr 3 months and a strict exercise program and nothing has helped. I never had this problem with my weight.
