Unfortunately, I have had a real problem with hormonal birth control. I'm currently taking Microgestin, and while I'm kind of miserable on it, it's not as bad as what I experienced with Ortho. My only real complaint is that I have developed contact lens intolerance, and get red, gritty, painful eyes every time I wear my lenses for more than one day at a time. I have been on several antidepressants over the years. My problems started with very severe panic attacks. For this condition, Paxil was amazing. Sometimes when your symptoms are severe, it will take at least 1 month before the medicine will really start working its purpose. Paxil did make me gain weight, but I still feel this is the best drug for me for those symptoms. I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) around 3-4 years ago, and since then have tried various dosages of Strattera, Adderall, and Vyvanse.
