My son was diagnosed as Bipolar but was mostly manic and rarely depressed. The doctors started him on Effexor which put him in such a high state of mania that he had to be hospitalized. Yet the doctors kept prescribing this poison. They counteracted it with Seroquel which made him sleep, and Lithium which made him shake so badly he could barely hold onto anything. i switched from topamax to lamictal for prevention of migraines. i think it is a very good drug. i also have psych issues, mainly instability. Lamictal has really helped (more so than anything else).

I was diagnosed with a stomach virus and was prescribed this by my doctor. So far, I have had no real complaints besides the slight dizziness and the pain in the stomach. It helped my nausea, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it really worked that well overall.

I have a brown mark accross my forehead ever since I have taken the nuvaring 4 years ago - it gets worse with suntan. It is similar to "the mask of pregnancy". I also have the brown line on my abdomen from my belly button down - similar to that you get when pregnant. Both of these side effects are mild but I do not notice anyone posting these side effects.
