I had a urine infection {my own fault not drinking enough } so was very grateful with the speed that flucloxacillin worked. I feel very sure that the skin and nail problems I have now are some kind of side effect from the flucloxacillin though. I had never had anything remotely like this before and it started three days into treatment .

My thyroid lvls were low so doctor prescribed this to me 25 mg. once a day. I noticed a weight gain immediately, headaches, severe joint pain, my throat felt swollen or like a lump was in it and overall negative effects. I had a hysterectomy the same month the doctor prescribed this so I am unsure if its the levothyroid or effects of no hormones...maybe a little of both. My doctor weened me off of it in late November, 2009. That lasted about 4 weeks. I was completely out of control with my anger. Anything & everything set me off. Didn't care who it was ; family , friends, co - workers, management personel , people I didn't even know. I would fight or argue with anyone at anytime over anything. Needless to say, after the 4 weeks, my doctor put me back on it. after about another 3 weeks, I was much better and back under control.

This medication was by far the worse treatment I have tried for my severe menstrual cramps. It made me so sick to my stomach that it felt like I had the stomach flu everytime I took it. I couldn't sleep at all, I would have severe night sweats, nausea, diarrhea, and just overall felt like crap. I wish I had never even tried this medication, what a waste of 3 months of my life.
