I have found since I have been taking Betahistine that I have had shortness of breath on several occasions, which can be pretty scary. My mouth and throat feel quite dry a lot of the time, but that isn't such a big deal. I have noticed also that my nails have been 'peeling'. I don't know if this is related but it has never happened before I started taking Betahistine - and I have a pretty healthy and varied diet.

i'm almost 75. i take two pills before i play basketball to mask the pain. this works and helps me feel better. i never take any other medications, besides melatonin, which helps me sleep at night.

This medicine potentially saved my life. After several years of periodic panic attacks, I awoke to a suicidal panic attack whereupon my heart and body were racing and my mind was telling me that I HAD to kill myself. I could not speak and could hardly breathe. My only help was to text message a friend who immediately drove to my house and called my neurologist for me. I take Benadryl D for Sinus and Allergies and on occasion, Benadryl Severe Allergy and Sinus Headache. I find that Benadryl does NOT work in hot or humid weather and my nose becomes very stuffy. For Benadryl to take FULL effect, I need to be in a very cold room around 70 degrees. Also, the effects wear off every 4 hours or so and the stuffiness in my nose increases with the intake every four hours instead of decreasing. I've been on it only 4 days and i'm having major memory problems. I cant remember where things are, who people are what I need to do. I cant focus, concentrate or accomplish anything. It's very scary, like i'm looking at me from the outside. Its causing a lot of anxiety and panic. I'm only on 25 mg.

Besides being ineffective, I am sufering from severe "brain zaps" while still taking the medication. I am also suffering from debilitating fatigue. This drug is not worth it and I'm afraid to come off of it due to the terrible withdrawals.
