I take Tums because I like the taste and although I am not low on calcium, I consider them safe as a calcium supplement- if taken as directed. They work for indigestion, too, but if I take one on an empty stomach I get stomach pains.

This is an effective product. I have so far not had any side-effects or problems. My thyroid level testing has always come back consistent - which gives me the assurance the medicine is working.
