When I first started Effexor (at 37.5mg), it was like a Godsend. I felt immediately like things were going to change with my life. I had taken Oxycontin after a dental procedure and that with anesthesia and novacaine, left me feeling like a walking zombie. I was completely "out of it" while I was on this drug.

vI have been on Lyrica for Neuropathy for the past 5 and 1/2 years. It worked about 70-75% of the time for the first few years but now it works less than 40% of the time. My biggest problems with the Lyrica is the side effects-you name them I have them; weight gain (30-40 pounds), chills, night sweats, insomnia, depression, fatique, lack of motivation, memory loss, confusion, sleepiness, abdominal pain, GI bleeding, nose bleeds.
