I suffered from general anxiety disorder, mild OCD, and occasional depression and went on Lexapro when I was 18. After about 2 weeks I started noticing improvement and after about 6 weeks I noticed the full effects. My anxiety caused me to have a lot of problems going to sleep and after starting lexapro those issues went away and I was able to sleep much better. Was prescribed this drug for acute bronchitis. Was coughing severely. After start of treatment, I felt as if I were tearing avery tendon in my chest wall and back. 5 wks later, am still unable to move well or pick up even slightly heavy objects. When I sneeze, I still feel as if I'm tearing tissues in my chest wall. Did not seem effective on my bronchitis. This SHOULD NOT BE PRESCRIBED FOR ACUTE COUGHING!

I believe I suffered from depression and anxiety for many years before being officaly diagnosed. I finally seeked help when it was affecting my ability to be a good wife and mother. I hoped it would help with my decreased libido but while it did not get worse there was not much of a change. The beginning side effects where a little discouraging but lasted maybe two weeks.
