This drug also works as an 'antispasmodic' (slows digestion) making it a godsend for those of us who have had Ulcerative Colitis, Chrones Disease, IBS, Colon Cancer, etc. -related surgeries. DHC works wonders!! Nothing like Codiene at all, so don't worry folks! Also* There is no ceiling effect like codeine! On the negative side, tolerance can build within days. If I were to make a comparison for those who haven't heard of Dihydrocodeine; I'd says it's the UK's version of our "Hydrocodone (Vicodin,etc)". The two are quite similar. This medication was given to me for strep throat, I guess it got rid of my infection but it tasted bad everytime I swallowed this pill, and I started getting slight diarrhea while I was on this medication. Besides, the diarrhea and the horrible taste to the pill there are no more complaints, but I sure didint like this medication too much due to the horrible taste and diarrhea.

I changed to Lyrica because I heard it was very effective for pain management & it is, but the side effects of weight gain & blurred vision are not worth it to me. I am planning to talk to my Doctor about switching. There are other side effects I could live with, but I'm not taking anything that makes me more hungry. I have enough problems in that area already.

This drug is POISON. Do not take it. Do not let any doctor make you take it. Let me tell you my story. I was a reasonably happy person before cymbalta. Naïve and recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, I began taking this drug as prescribed, looking for a miracle.
