Started out with 50mg 2x daily for a week, with no improvement. 2nd week took 75mg 2x daily with some good improvement in numbness/tingling. Third wee took 100mg 2xdaily and was so dizzy, could not walk in straight line. Had to hold on to the wall to walk. Only took 3 doses and had to stop. Went back to 50mg till I can get off it. Ataivan works better but does cause some drowziness.

I had Graves Disease about 8 years ago,took docs a year to sort it out, had all the heart meds too. Then it was sorted out. Since then i have had Hyperthroidism about three times since - it just wont go away. Back on Carbims again. On 5 mg three times a day now have been retested and its hardly reduced it so have to up the dose to 4 tabs daily - doc said two am,two pm. This is being given to my child to fight a MRSA infection that required surgery. We are hoping to get her switched out of it if her MRSA is susceptible to something else, as the side effects are really unpleasant. Her finger and toe joints are swelling and itchy; she throws up unless given anti-nausea meds; she's not eating; she sleeps a ton. That said, MRSA is also very unpleasant so sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

LoEstrin is like a godsend to me. Since taking it, my periods have been significantly lighter and last only 3-4 days instead of the very heavy long (8-9 days) flow I used to have. Also, this medication has significantly minimized my cramps from very severe (used to have to stay home in bed) to barely noticeable. I would highly recommend this medication to anyone who is suffering from extreme periods.
