After I started taking Mesalazine together with Decortine ,the condition became better.I finished the therapy and after a few days the colitis has come back,complete remission of the decease. Now the situation is the worst.I am taking 3000 mg mesalazine per day.I have very strong abdominal pain,bloody diarrhea all the time,heartbeat,muscle cramping,gas etc. I am afraid that the Mesalazine does not doing its function and in my case I think that the side effects has been taking in action.

My doctor, after drawing and evaluating my blood, suggested that I take an iron supplement. The supplement was an over the counter one, having 150% of the daily value of iron needed in a healthy diet. Since I hardly need meat, she suggested that I buy something with a percentage that high. For the first few weeks that I took it, every time (even with a full stomach) I received painful stomach cramps and became extremely drowsy. My doctor weened me off of it in late November, 2009. That lasted about 4 weeks. I was completely out of control with my anger. Anything & everything set me off. Didn't care who it was ; family , friends, co - workers, management personel , people I didn't even know. I would fight or argue with anyone at anytime over anything. Needless to say, after the 4 weeks, my doctor put me back on it. after about another 3 weeks, I was much better and back under control.
