im 50 and been a musician and janitor all life . 2 years ago once in a while right arm problems . the last month very bad, i can not extend arm out over acoustic guitar without extreme pain in arm between shoulder and elbow . reaching behind in car or to get wallet to painfull to use right arm anymore so i use left . vacume left only . try to do most things lefty now . at night tough to sleep through . if flat, weight of arm makes shoulder ache . cant sleep on right side = bad arm . left some... I've been searching everywhere to see if anyone else has had the same violent physical reaction to Candex. I am happy I found this page with a couple of posters who have had identical side effects. A year ago, I was put on a regimen of vitamins, fish oil, probiotics, etc., and completely cleaned up my diet. It was recommended that I also introduce Candex, which I did. Anything to feel better! I've tried them all! With reservations, I purchased Herplex and was humbled! It was the first medication to actually prevent cold sores from oozing open. Puzzled as to why I could no longer find it at Wal-Mart, I found this site and discovered it is no longer available. What a disappointment. I wish I had a dollar for every time I suggested Herplex to someone.

I've used other over the counter stuff such as abreva, blistex, among other stuff, but nothing comes close to Herplex. As soon as I feel a burning sensation on my lip I take the Herplex and within 3-4 days is dry and gone..
