Changing to this synthetic analogue, described to me as "the greatest thing for Type 1 diabetics" by my diabetic team was a decision I now deeply regret. The side effects were extremely debilitating - extreme fatigue, memory loss, joint & muscle pain, feeling as if I was in a foggy toxic state all the time despite good HBA1c results. This drug makes me sleepy, drowsy and tired, right after I take it. And I usually take it after breakfast. I was taking one tablet before, and I went to the doctor to told him about the side effects of the drug. He advised me to rest for about 10-15 minutes after breakfast. I feel like it is really drying my eyes out. I continue to drink plenty of water but I have to take it every 2 hours for the first two days and then every 4 hours for 4 days after that.
