I've been on Effexor XR for over 4 years now. I have recently added Lithium to boost the Effexor XR and it is working well. Effexor XR has got side effects like all medication but it works for me. With Lithium added I should be able to lower the dose of the Effexor. I was on 375mg a day for major depression and the headaches were too strong so I dropped back to 300mg which is better. I'd been on Zocor for about 2 months when the painful attacks in my arms started. I went through every test known to man, heart cath, MRI, MRA, EMG, endoscopy, various blood work. All came back negative and my pain was attributed to cervical spondylosis. I was given Neurontin, then Celebrex and Tramadol by my neurologist to deal with the pain. Hydrocodone did alleviate my back pain. I unfortunately became reliant on the drug to perform everyday actions. Anyone on this medication needs to be aware that there are serious side effects. The recommended dose is recommended for a reason. It is highly addictive.

M/W/A 57yrs 6'+ 235lbs, was put on Simcor Sept 2010, due for first CBC since medication started next week. My triglycerides were through the roof, 500+, LDL was only 179, but HDL was in the basement, so DR put me on 1000-20 Simcor. He warned me of the "flushing" as he put it, and wanted me to take it at bedtime to limit this side effect.
