I was put on ativan 3 times per day starting in january for panic attacks that I was having. The problem with ativan is that if you are having a panic attack it takes a while for the medicine to kick in and stop it. I also was having some side effects with it such as tremors and nightmares. My doctor switched me to xanax and I liked it a lot better. It stopped my panic attacks within 10 minutes of taking the medicine vs the hour it took to stop them when I was taking the adivan. I started out with 4 tabs a day but that was way too much. Doctor's PA told me to take 2 a day which was an improvement but side effects, although lessened, continued. I experienced restlessness, tongue sucking, mouth pursing, jaw clenching, rash on face, throat tightness with muscle spasm. I learned that these side effects over time can be life long. Epitol saved me from the most severe pain I have ever experienced in my life. My trigeminal neuralgia was so severe that suicide was beginning to be an option. Taking the Epitol three times a day, on a regular basis has almost completely relieved my pain symptoms. I take the maximum dosage allowed and hope that I can continue to take it, as I never want to be in that much pain again.
