This drug is very expensive (approx $3 a pill/1000mG), and the side effects are horrible. Although they tend to diminish after 6-12 months, the itching and hot flashes are a sure sign from your body that something is wrong. Concentrated fish oils and other remedies work better, and will not destroy your body.

I was really against taking this drug to begin with. I've tried to keep a positive HOPE that this would help me. I have worse symptoms and can't differentiate what is symptomatic of the disease or the drug. The endocrine system is so complex and effects many other body systems. I've taken only immediate release niacin. With twice a day dosing, I've never had any liver issues. Every time I try three times a day dosing, I eventually get elevated liver enzymes.

At first, everything seemed to be going along fine, but as of late I am noticing more and more symptoms. I have never had irregular periods and since starting this medication, I have them frequently. My periods also last longer than usual. Acne was at first improving, but has had a sharp decline in recent days.
