I have had imbalance for about 6 months now, the doctor referred me to a neurologist but there is a two month waiting list here, I couldn't walk without holding onto walls and furniture and very rarely could I go outside and I walk with a stick, but I also have hypermobility. One month after quitting smoking I suffered a fairly severe asthma attack and 3 episodes of migraine aura around 11 am daily (always had allergic rhinitis ,classic migraine which for the past 20 years or so no longer includes headache, just aura, and various food additive allergies), followed by a mild stroke causing temporary paresis of right leg from knee to foot. Medication didn't digest well and as a result was lodged in my esophagus. This caused the lining of my esophagus to burn away and I was unable to eat or drink effectively for approximately 7 days. In addition, it caused me to be hospitalized and caused a great deal of pain.

Since starting on this drug last year, my "attacks" have reduced tremendously and I'm able to work with confidence now. However, my biggest problem with Betahistine is that I have been experiencing severe muscle cramps recently which at times can be very painful. I have also lost some weight and I try to eat more to compensate! Is their any way one can ensure that he/she maintains her/his weight when on this drug? My sexual appetite has also gone down. Any comments?
