I switched to Vivelle Dot after being on Premarin for 18 years. I am disappointed that my side effects of weight gain and breast tenderness are bad enough to make me want to stop using it. I feel it is safer than Premarin but I cannot live with the side effects.

Experienced moderate flushing during my first usage but it occured 12 hours after taking the pill. It was a scary experience because I thought any side effects would hit a lot sooner. Flushing occurred about 4 hours after taking a pill the second day; this time I noticed my knees and ankles turning red - flushing was limited to face, neck, arms the first day. Midrin was wonderful, but I grew out of it. According to my doctor, it really only works for kids and teens. It didn't always help with the full blown migraine, but it did wonders if taken at onset. I did experience a lot of nausea, but as long as I took the medication with food (hard to do with a migraine), it wasn't so bad.
