You need to report the muscle pain, you could get permanent muscle damage with cholesterol meds, I myself would not take it if you have muscle pain, this could indicate that it maybe is starting to damage your muscles and joints. I have tried five different statin drugs like baycol, zorcor and crestor....etc and they make me hurt all over, just got niaspan last night and didn't sleep and woke up lightheaded and had heart palpatations, probably won't take this either!!!! This drug also works as an 'antispasmodic' (slows digestion) making it a godsend for those of us who have had Ulcerative Colitis, Chrones Disease, IBS, Colon Cancer, etc. -related surgeries. I was on Junel for a 2 or 3 years. I absolutely loved it. I went through a year and a half of hit and misses with many different types of birth controls. I did not gain weight, I actually lost a lot of weight and maintained a great weight or have depression. Simvastine was prescribed before I had an angioplasty (stent). But as soon as I was on a higher dose I became very ill.Confusion,memory loss, nightmares,servere muscle pain,depression,blurred vision,lack of appetite. lost interest in things and people I love.

I find it is extremely slow in taking effect and eventually the result aren't as good as they once were requiring 2 tablets instead of one wich i try to avoid.
