I had Graves Disease about 8 years ago,took docs a year to sort it out, had all the heart meds too. Then it was sorted out. Since then i have had Hyperthroidism about three times since - it just wont go away. Back on Carbims again. On 5 mg three times a day now have been retested and its hardly reduced it so have to up the dose to 4 tabs daily - doc said two am,two pm. THIS DRUG SHOULD NOT BE ON THE MARKET!!! It causes PERMANENT sexual dysfunction, swelling, fatigue, depression and sleep problems. Contrary to what Merck claims: these side-effects are NOT temporary. There should be a full investigation into how this drug got approved. It has completely destroyed my life! In 2003, I attempted to commit suicide as a direct result of the drug's after-effects. Other people are telling similar stories on the internet.

Terrible drug. I threw the last RX away. I felt like I had the flu for 3 months straight. Would not recommend this drug to anyone. I didn't feel that I needed it anyway, my choles was right at 200....my Dr tends to be a Drama Queen, so I switched Doctors to one that isn't so excitable about everything.

I suffer from Fibromyalgia and a variety of chronic joint and muscle pain. I cannot take anti-inflamatories because I take Coumadin (blood thinner). I was prescribed Percocet after major shoulder surgery and found it was the 'best' pain releif I'd ever gotten for my whole body. I am on a relatively low-dose for chronic pain and yes, I know this is physically addictive. However, quality of life is addictive as well!!!!
