Drinking three glasses of cranberry juice daily, or taking powdered cranberry, has been found to raise good cholesterol substantially and put a whole lot of powerful antioxidants in the bloodstream. One study found that it lowered the risk of heart disease by about 40 percent. However, you do need to talk to your doctor as it can react with some meds.

I take Tums for extra calcium, but I recommend not taking them on an empty stomache; typically, if I do, I experience (very minor) stomache pains.

I've been plagued by severe clinical depression, anxiety and bipolar disorders for 20 years. I've been prescribed several combinations of medications but have had very few periods of relief. Seven months ago, I again sought out psychiatric help for my depression and was diagnosed with adult ADD. In addition to 60mg Cymbalta, 100mg Lamictal, I was prescribed 50mg Vyvanse. Within 40 minutes, my crying stopped, my sense of desperation eased and for the first time in years, I had energy to func... View full comment

Although I had allergic reaction with each infusion, the side effects from the Taxol got better after 7-10 days. I didn't have nausea at all (actually had a very good appetite) except my stomach was queasy for about 7 days after 4th infusion. I had an odd taste in my mouth with excess saliva for a several days after infusions. Very tired but that too improves after 7-10 days. Leg pain for 2-4 days afterward - relieved by taking hydrocodone. It has been 11 days since 4th infusion and still... View full comment
