Plan B is a great emergency contraceptive. It is accessible and relatively effective. However, it is pricey at 50 bucks and caused some hormonal imbalances that affected me emotionally as well as causing irregularity in my menstrual cycle.

I do weekly immunoglobulin subQ infusions. I used Chloraprep once a week, prior to insterting the 5 needles that are necessary for 1 treatment of immunoglobulin, . For the past 18 weeks, I've been using Chloroprep and have suffered with huge (4-5 inches) and burning welts at each infusion site. The welts would last for 2-3 days and required me to use prednisone and Benedryl to reduce the itching. My skin around the hives was very sensitive and felt like it had gotten very sunburned. I used Seasonale for about 3 years, switched to OrthoTriCycline for about 3 years, and then recently my doctor switched me to Seasonique since I did so well on the Seasonale before and it is a similar drug. I took the drug for 7 weeks until I had to stop. I bled constantly for the last 4 weeks. I gained 10 lbs.
