I started Loestrin 24 in May of 2010. In July I started having lower abdominal pain followed by upper right abdominal pain. After doing some research I found others had experienced gallbladder spasms. My doctor indicated that I was experiencing gallbladder spasms. I am very healthy and ended up having my appendix removed with no indication of infection b/c of the pain. Since discontinuing my medication three days ago, the symptoms are still there but have improved immensely.

I have used NuvaRing for over 3 years and the onlly side effect I had was loss of sex drive. I loved being able to control my periods with it and not having to remember a pill everyday. That being said, after 3 years on it I started having severe lower abdominal pain. I originally thought it was a cyst but then the pain migrated throughout my whole pelvic area. I have been taking quasense for over a year and love it!!!! I skip the placebo pills every 3 months and go straight to the reg pills so I do spot a little every few months, but its better than bleeding for days and having all the other symptoms that go along with a crappy period.... My only complaint is that even the generic is expensive! Walmart has sprintec (generic ortho-tricyclen) for $9 and I pay over $100 for quasense every 3 months. I've recently discovered that I'm suffering from candida which apparently is a side-effect of Advair. I'm not at all happy about this! Also my skin is incredibly dry - not sure if that's because of Advair side-effects or not.
