I take Ritalin for my ADHD. It works well for me but some of my friends and family members tell me they have noticed I have some slight mood swings sometimes.

Even at the highest recommended dose, it doesn't work a full 24 hours. It does cause extreme drowsiness about 30 minutes to an hour after taking, so I take mine at bedtime. It is also quite expensive if you don't have insurance.

Started taking Topamax on vacation to gradually get up to full dose. Went very slowly--got to full dosage at about 4 weeks. I lost weight, but tried to stick with it because the migraines were so bad, but it only reduced them a little bit. At around the 4-5 week mark I was sitting in my living room feeling semi-suicidal and decided I should read the fine print on the side effects. I thought this pill was great. Who doesn't want fewer periods? I started taking about 5 months back, so I am on my second round (pack). I got married a few weeks ago and of course have been going through changes that would cause natural anxiety, but one thing I don't understand is that my sex drive has definitely been affected. I thought there was something wrong with me until I started doing a little research. I think this BC may do that to some people and I may be one of them.
