I spent most of my life trying to hide or avoid my problems with agoraphobia and panic attacks. I've tried everything from psych to behavior modification to many other drugs. While I am not panic attack free taking this med has reduced the frequence and severity of attacks. Chantx helped me quit smoking for 2 weeks. I had to quit taking it due to me getting a rash all over my body. that was 2 months ago, and i still have the rash. The doctors dont seem to know how to get rid of it. Does chantix work, i think so. I think i would still be smoke free if i could have continued it. I switched from Effexor (300mg) to Prestiq (100mg) and was on Prestiq for 2 weeks. It was horrible. My paranoia was horrible, felt like everyone is talking about me behind my back, even feel like one coworker is trying to get me fired. I have at least 1 panic attack a day (never used to have them so much). I'm switching over to effexor. It works effectively for me, but it doesn't seem any more effective than the over-the-counter Primatene inhaler. I purchased a Primatene inhaler after my prescription Albuterol inhaler ran out and have not since returned to have another prescription of Albuterol given. Primatene is more readily accessible, and a prescription is not needed from my doctor.
