This was the last treatment prescribed after calcium blockers swelled my lower extremities and had ghout after my other treatments. . I felt better with bendroflurazide but after gout which I had been prone to (my first attack at 18 after a glass of port!) My GP would not prescribe again for me. But my blood pressure was down to 135 with benfdrofuazide. Which I would prefer to go back to and put up with the severe pain of GOUT!! After taking Advil menstrual cramps did ease up and I was able to maintain normal activities. After a couple hours the pain intensified and I had to continue taking the pills to relieve pain.

I have taken lithium Carbonate in different variations since 1979 for the treatment of bipolar. Each time I chose to go off it for any reason I had problems and resumed. This has by far been my saving grace to allow me to live a normal life. Any benefits far outweigh the side effects.
