It works, but not great. I have to take twice the recommended dosage (which I probably shouldn't) just to get some effect. I do still take it most mornings, though, because I have year-round allergies and sinus problems and usually wake up with a lot of congestion. On the plus side, a couple of tablets in the morning will usually decongest me enough to get me through the day. It does occasionally make me thirsty and tired.

I took MARAX as a child in 60's, early 70's for asthma. I found it effective, but found it to cause a (to me, scary) side effect my doctor never mentioned: Marax caused me to "see stars" upon rising from sitting position; to the point that this "visual static" (similar to analog TV picture after station goes off the air) made it impossible to see, momentarily, upon rising. Even though my blood work comes back normal, I am still cold most of the time when others around me are not. I am told being cold is a side effect of hypothyroidism. So I don't know if that was supposed to improve while taking Levothyroxine or not.

After about a year of use, I've noticed that my hair loss has pretty much stopped (at forehead). Unfortunately, nothing has really regrown. The crown of my head is fine at this point, but my hairline is the trouble area.
