I have found since I have been taking Betahistine that I have had shortness of breath on several occasions, which can be pretty scary. My mouth and throat feel quite dry a lot of the time, but that isn't such a big deal. I have noticed also that my nails have been 'peeling'. I don't know if this is related but it has never happened before I started taking Betahistine - and I have a pretty healthy and varied diet.

I have used NuvaRing for over 3 years and the onlly side effect I had was loss of sex drive. I loved being able to control my periods with it and not having to remember a pill everyday. That being said, after 3 years on it I started having severe lower abdominal pain. I originally thought it was a cyst but then the pain migrated throughout my whole pelvic area. Tri-regol has been the only birth control that I've been taking that is basically "symptom-free". I did not gain weight, get a yeast infection, have a change in vision or get nauseous or tired, as I have experienced with other birth control pills. It gets a A++ in my book

Plan B is a great emergency contraceptive. It is accessible and relatively effective. However, it is pricey at 50 bucks and caused some hormonal imbalances that affected me emotionally as well as causing irregularity in my menstrual cycle.

I started on 5 grams two weeks ago and I could tell it was working. However, late in the day I could feel it wearing off. When I would take the 5 grams in the morning it helped with my libido and firmness but by the next morning it would wear off. My doctor increased the dose to 10 grams a day and I just started that.
