Initially, Wellbutrin XL definitely helped me to get through my husband's one-year navy deployment, with me having to work part-time, continue working on my Master's degree, and care for my 7 and 9 year olds alone. That was 4 1/2 years ago and I am still on Wellbutrin XL. At this time, I would say my mild depression and anxiety, plus mood swings and lack of patience, are creeping back. I really appreciate this medication. It works really good, and it regulates my blood pressure very well. I feel more confident, personally, emotionally. I didn't experience any physical changes, but emotionally I feel better.

Although I had allergic reaction with each infusion, the side effects from the Taxol got better after 7-10 days. I didn't have nausea at all (actually had a very good appetite) except my stomach was queasy for about 7 days after 4th infusion. I had an odd taste in my mouth with excess saliva for a several days after infusions. Very tired but that too improves after 7-10 days. I too am hyperthyroid. I was prescribed carbimazole and had an allergic reaction with a skin rash which erupted within days. I then was prescribed PTU, propylithouacil which I initially took at a very high dosage, namely 12 tablets/day and after several weeks lost my taste completely and had bad headaches. My consultant reduced the dosage to two/day after 2 months as I had gone underactive. I gradually regained my taste but then developed pains in my arms so bad I couldn't sleep on my sides... I had a really bad cold when I took this medication and it worked really well to make me feel better, but also made me feel really drowsy. Do not make the mistake of taking two within a 12 hour period .

I've been trying to get several plantar warts removed by my dermatologist for 6 monthe with no results. Every few weeks I'd go in and get them treated with liqid nitrogen then apply Compound W at home. It worked better than Cymbalta, but does not come close to the efficacy of Effexor XR. I was hoping for mood improvement like Effexor XR used to provide, but all I experienced was a mild improvement over the Cymbalta. Disappointed overall with its performance and ready to try something else.
