My doc and I are still trying to work out the right dose to combat the sleepiness that my antidepressants cause (I've tried many - all make me sleepy). On 75mg, I can get through the day but am exhausted at night when it wears off. It is common to experience some stinging or burning when you place the drops in the eyes. However, I hope the burning didn't continue afterward. If the burning doesn't subside after a short period of time, you should seek medical attention to ensure you aren't allergic to any of the ingredients or experiencing some adverse effect. I think Claritin-D 24-hour helped most of my symptoms but not all. It definitely alleviated my sinus symptoms, but it neither helped my dry, itchy eyes nor my sore, irritated throat. Throughout the years I have tried numerous allergy medications, and for OTC meds, Claritin- D 24-hour is the best that I have found.
