This drug was supposed to raise my Hdl, I took it only 3 or 4 times as it really caused my blood sugar to spike. If you are diabetic I would not recommend this

I have used NuvaRing for over 3 years and the onlly side effect I had was loss of sex drive. I loved being able to control my periods with it and not having to remember a pill everyday. That being said, after 3 years on it I started having severe lower abdominal pain. I originally thought it was a cyst but then the pain migrated throughout my whole pelvic area. I was taking high doses of hydroCodone with tylenol, so this drug is far better less disruptive, and less addictive both in taking it and in stopping it.

I would strongly discourage women with anxiety and/or depression from taking this pill. I've suffered from anxiety and depression for years, which is kept in check by medication, however by week three of my first pack of this pill, I experienced depression so severe that I did nothing but sleep and cry for a week. As if that were bad enough, I went through two weeks of daily panic attacks which sent me to urgent care twice and eventually to a counselor to eliminate them. Please tell your doct... Went to the doctor after about two years of being in constant bummed-out moods. He diagnosed me with dysthymia (mild, chronic depressed state), and prescribed me with Celexa. After about a year, my moods are much improved and normalized, I can concentrate on tasks better, and I don't dwell on negative experiences. The main issue with the medication is that I think it makes me a bit more tired, though I have always required a lot of sleep.
