I tore the ligaments in my ankle (very painful) and was prescribed Vicodin. I only take one pill and am fine with it. Lessens the pain with no noticeable side-effects while awake. I have noticed that if I take one right before bed, I will wake up with both my arms entirely numb, feeling like they are "asleep". So I just don't take it before bed any more.

after 3 surgeries due to a ruptured disc which didn't work, including the installation of neurostimulator, I had been put on about evry possible pain med. I disliked the side effects of Oxycontin,Vicodin and Percocet and thought I was screwed but after moving and going to a new Dr. who put me on Opana ER I was finally able to find relief and cut down on the number of pills I had to take avery day as well as eliminating the Tylenol which is bad for your liver. Experienced moderate flushing during my first usage but it occured 12 hours after taking the pill. It was a scary experience because I thought any side effects would hit a lot sooner. Flushing occurred about 4 hours after taking a pill the second day; this time I noticed my knees and ankles turning red - flushing was limited to face, neck, arms the first day. I thought the strength of my memory was lowering due to my age (33) .. but perhaps it is related to the generic Xanax. But on a positive, this solution has had the least amount of side-affects over any other anti-anxiety option for me personally. Anti-depressants put a lot of weight on me and took away my libido. No sign of that now and I've been on 1mg XR for well over a year now.
