About Arginine
It is known by various other names like 2-Amino-5-guanidinopentanoic Acid, Arg, Arginine, Arginine Ethyl Ester, Arginine Ethyl Ester Dihydrochloride, Arginine Ethyl Ester HCl, Arginine HCl, Arginine Hydrochloride, Di-Arginine Malate, Di-Arginine Orotate, Di-L-Arginine-L-Malate, Dl-Arginine, L-Arginine Ethyl Ester Dichloride, L-Arginine HCl, L-Arginine Hydrochloride, L-Arginine L-Pyroglutamate, L-Arginine Pyroglutamate, R-Gene 10. L-arginine goes through certain changes in the body and in the process turns into nitric oxide. Nitric oxide helps widen the blood capillaries thereby resulting in improving blood circulation. In addition to this it also helps stimulate the production of growth hormone, insulin, and other substances in the body. L-arginine is primarily used in the treatment of cardiovascular and blood vessel conditions like congestive heart failure (CHF), chest pain, hypertension, and coronary artery disease. It is also used in the treatment of various other problems like recurring pain or discomfort in the lower extremities; blocked arteries; and decreased mental capacity in older people for example senile dementia, and conditions related to male infertility and erectile dysfunction. Additional uses include treatment and prevention of cold, improving kidney function post transplant, pre-eclampsia or hypertension associated with pregnancy; strengthening the immune system, and in the prevention of inflammation of the digestive tract in premature babies.
