I have been taking Zoloft since August 2009. I was prescribed this medication after seeing a phychiarist due to anxiety. The anxiety was from an allergy medicine called Xyzal which was prescribed to my last April 2009. Well needless to say this allergy medication caused real bad hallucinations which caused me to go to the hospital. I took Candex for three days, one capsule in the morning with a very large glass of water. I am very sensitive to all kinds of medicine, so I was prepared for the worst. The only thing that seems related in time to the Candex doses was the veins in my hands and fingers dilating (getting really big), making my hands ache and my fingers and palms itch. Worked well when I had foot surgery. Did not cause nausea like the prescribed pain medication with codeine derivative. Helped the surgery but not with joint knee pain or headache

I took MARAX as a child in 60's, early 70's for asthma. I found it effective, but found it to cause a (to me, scary) side effect my doctor never mentioned: Marax caused me to "see stars" upon rising from sitting position; to the point that this "visual static" (similar to analog TV picture after station goes off the air) made it impossible to see, momentarily, upon rising. This drug is very expensive (approx $3 a pill/1000mG), and the side effects are horrible. Although they tend to diminish after 6-12 months, the itching and hot flashes are a sure sign from your body that something is wrong. Concentrated fish oils and other remedies work better, and will not destroy your body.

Cymbalta has been the best medication for my panic attacks and depression. I have tried Paxil, Lexapro, Effexor, and Pristiq before Cymbalta, and had to stop them all for one reason or another. Cymbalta has the best mix of efficacy and tolerability for me. Each person is different. Do not listen to reviews like these; you must try the drugs for yourself. Just because one person has a bad experience does not mean you will as well. Everyone seems to love Lexapro, but it didn't work at all... View full comment
