Doxycycline helped me visibly reduce my acne with very little to no side effects. It is just an antibiotic, not an acne treatment, so it works best supplemented with other treatments like benzamycin and retin-a micro. Taking doxycycline did not cause much, if any, discomfort.

prilosec otc worked fairly well for me. i'm not having stomach pains & heartburn as i was before. the only things i really noticed are i take the pill in the morning everyday. by the time it is the next morning, i feel the pain again until i take the pill. i'm hoping after the 14 day treatment that this does not occur because i will not be able to take the pills anymore. it is my 7th day on the pill & i've expierienced a piercing, stabbing headache in the back of my head & behind... It was effective in preventing pregnancy as well as regulating my periods and lessing the pain of cramps during my period. However, as a healthy 18-20 year old, my sex drive was reduced dramatically to the point that I stopped taking this medication. When I stopped, my sex drive returned.

Doctors seem to hand this stuff out like candy to kids. When my kid started with asthma we went alternative and got her off the drugs ASAP--I really regret getting hooked on Ventolin all those years ago. My daughter is fine now--no symptoms at all. Her doctor was really thrilled and really surprised. She was off meds in 3 months after being really bad, and with a family history...I was lucky he was supportive; most docs aren't.
